Avery Johnstone

Avery is an Associate in KPMG’s Global Decarbonization Hub – focused on gender and climate research, youth engagement, and global policy. Avery is an experienced researcher, having conducted primary research on gender-based violence and climate adaptation in Guyana, convened multistakeholder working groups on gender and climate, and supported the development of a toolkit for corporate climate action and gender inclusion.

Avery has spent the last decade working with young people in public and private sectors across gender and climate issues, and across Global North and South. She has, and continues to, work at the intersection of business and policy, working on various COP convenings, the World Economic Forum in Davos, and G7 / G20 meetings. She is the Global Chair of Leaders 2050 – a KPMG-led, external network for young professionals interested in ESG and climate transition, across 16 countries and thousands of participants, and including leading KPMG’s youth engagement at COP 27 and 28.

Outside of her role at KPMG, Avery sits on the Board of Directors for Youth Climate Lab – a global non-profit focused upskilling young leaders in climate action and climate finance, and is a Young Leader with Women Deliver.
