Amy Spearman (she/elle/ella) is a 4th year Global Political Economy honours student who lives in Winnipeg, MB on Treaty 1 territory. Proud aspects of her identity include that she is Francophone, multilingual (speaking 5 languages), a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, a woman, and a global citizen! Amy is known for being a young public speaker, solo traveler and intersectional human rights advocate. Amy has made significant contributions to civil society, including serving on the international committee that created the UN child-friendly Convention on the Rights of the Child, and implementing 5 community grant projects that addressed a range of social issues impacting her community. A value that is very important to Amy is global citizenship because she has lived, studied and worked in 5 continents so far in her life. In her future she aspires to serve the Canadian government as a diplomat.
