Lia Chang

Toronto, Ontario

Lia is a passionate Korean-Canadian student and activist from Ontario. Her advocacy work and studies have been in the fields of gender equality, racial equality, and education equity, working with organizations such as the United Nations, the International Youth Conference, Plan International, and Sandgate Women’s Shelter. A motivated student and advocate for human rights, she has initiated and led numerous global and local initiatives, including the establishment of a free online academic program for elementary students, fundraisers for youth in Ukraine, product drives for domestic violence shelters, and holiday concerts for residents of long-term care homes. Lia currently serves as a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Young Champion, in addition to acting as a youth delegate to the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly.
